Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) as well as Chris Watson (born in Paris). They were chosen to play the three lead characters Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's first appearance in a film was with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. The film set records for opening-day sales and opening-weekend takings and became the top-grossing movie of 2001. Reviewers have been highly lauding the film as well as the performance by three young actors. The well-known British newspaper The Daily Telegraph called her performance admirable. Emma got five nominations in recognition of her exceptional performance. In the end, she received the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actresses of an Film.
